ENT appointment made

Well I took Addison to the Dr. this morning to see if her ear infection had cleared up yet. She has been sick for over a month now and has been on antibiotics for over 3 weeks now. She has a double ear infection again...so today she got a shot of Rocephin to see if that will clear it up. She has had horrible diarrhea for weeks now since she has been an antibiotics for so long. I feel so bad for her. So we follow up in a week to see if the ear infection is gone, and if it is not then we get to see ENT to decide if she would need ear tubes. The first available at CMH was September so I made an appt. with one of the CMH Dr's at his private practice and they had an opening in less than 2 weeks. I would rather take her to CMH because I would not have to pay a thing for the service...but I don't want to wait until September...

Lauren went with me to the Dr's office and she did do good. We ended up being there for almost 2 hours. She ate her snacks, read her books, and played with stickers the whole time. She was so worried that Addison was going to get a shot and she was going to be sad. Lauren helped me calm Addison down after she got the shot of Rocephin. She is so sweet!

We are off to Des Moines tomorrow to see some friends and spend a few days there so I need to get to packing!

Addison pictures and Jiggle Jam

I sent this one to everyone because I just love how it turned out. She is actually trying to tear the hat off, but I really captured the moment.

She is my little model. I sat her on the floor for a little photo shoot. She still does not have any teeth. I keep thinking some are going to pop through the way she is chewing on everything...including her hands.
JIGGLE JAM

Hanging out at Jiggle Jam. Addison is such an easy going baby and so adaptable to anything. She took a nap in her stroller and then just watched everything going on around her. She was all sweaty and hot, but never cried.

As soon as we arrived to Jiggle Jam Lauren wanted to ice cream. So we found some, but had to eat it quickly since it was so hot. It took us a little while to find Aiden and Amy, but I am glad we did because we had a lot of fun with them. Aunt Jen and Baby Claire were out there with Nana but we just saw them for a few minutes.

Lauren did not want to go in the fountains with all the big kids, but she found these puddles to play in and have fun!

It was so fun hanging out with Aiden, Amy and Shannon. I really think Lauren had more fun since Aiden was there. Those two laughed and giggled and talked the whole time. We don't see Aiden a whole out, but those two seem to remember each other well and have fun together.

I missed Aiden and Lauren playing in the water because I was feeding Addison, but Lauren said this was her favorite part..."putting her feet in the water with Aiden"

I think we might be able to go to Disney World after all. At first Lauren was scared to sit on the princesses lap, but she quickly changed her mind and loved it! Mark and I were not sure what she would do if we took her to Disney because she is scared of mascots, but she loved these girls dressed up like the princesses that Lauren loves. Disney World here we come!

It has been a great Memorial Day weekend. We enjoyed a BBQ at Gramps and Nana's today and have gotten a lot done around the house. It is so nice to stay home for the long 3 day weekend. Mark is golfing in the morning, and I think me and the girls will hang out at the pool...the pool in our back yard at least....try and stay nice and cool.

Mother's Day

It was a wonderful day and week for that matter. Mark brought home roses on Thursday which was a surprise. Lauren gave them to me and said "Happy Mother's Day." It was so sweet. We enjoyed having my family over on Saturday for a BBQ. It was a beautiful day outside, so Lauren and Claire were able to play on the swing and slide.

Sunday we enjoyed going to church, after Mark made pancakes for breakfast....yummy! Lauren and I went to feed the elk at Lake Jacomo, which she always loves to do. I was able to get some beautiful pictures of the girls outside in the grass. They turned out really good. It is so hard to get them both to look and smile at the same time.

Oh and to top off Mother's Day I spent a few hours at Urgent Care with Addison. She has had a cough and runny nose for 2 weeks now. She just can't seem to shake it. She had a fever last weekend but only for about 12 hours and it was just low grade. Well she has another ear infection. I was shocked. So she is back on Augmentin for 10 days...maybe now she will start feeling better.

7 months old today

I just can't believe how the time has flown by. It really seems like just yesterday I sat down at the computer and my water broke! Addison is a lot of fun these days. She is such a happy laid back baby. She loves watching Lauren and Lauren continues to adore her more each day. It seems like they will always have a close relationship. Lauren is so gentle with Addison and cares about her so much.

I love to watch Addison's face light up when Mark or Lauren make her laugh. Then she digs her head into my shoulder and cuddles with me. It is the sweetest thing.

Addison has loved all the baby food that has been offered to her so far, except applesauce. She is a great little eater.

She continues to wake up each night around 3 or 4. I now have a 7 month old that is still not sleeping through the night. I work full time and I have a baby that wakes me up every night...can you image how I feel at the end of each day? Mark keeps saying soon she will sleep all night...he has been saying that since she was 2 months old.

Addison has brought so much joy to our family. More than I could ever imagine. I could just sit and watch her and Lauren all day long.

Many people have said you are never a true parent until you have more than one kid. I completely know what they mean now. Having 2 is more than twice as much work, but those girls bring us so much happiness and joy.
