Nice Quiet Weekend

This snow is absolutely crazy.  Can you believe it?  The snow this weekend forced us to slow down, relax, stay in and just lay low...

But, this did too :(  Poor Lauren.  She came home Friday night and complained that she did not feel good.  She fell asleep in our bed instantly, so I figured she was just worn out from the week.  She woke up with a fever, headache, tummy ache, said she felt dizzy, and her throat hurt.  I have learned that when Lauren gets a fever she has strep throat.  EVERY.SINGLE.TIME.  and well...she has not had her round of strep this winter, so she was due.

She slept OK Saturday night, but woke up with a fever.  It went away after a while, so I hoped we had turned a corner and it was nothing big...but that evening her fever was back and the snow had started to fall. So, I decided based on her night I would decide if I would venture out to Urgent Care in the morning to get her checked out.  She woke up at 3 in the morning complaining that her throat hurt and she was burning up.  So when she woke up again around 8 with another fever I knew I had to get out this morning and get her looked at.  Good thing I did.  We were in and out in 30 minutes.  We were the second patient of the morning.  The streets were not too bad in Mark's SUV (4-wheel drive.)  As soon as Lauren got a dose of antibiotics in her she perked up and has been fine since.  Yea.  It was a little rough this weekend, but now she is feeling better.  I am just so thankful it happened on a Saturday and Sunday so no school or work was missed.

We always dye Easter eggs on Palm Sunday and even though we did not make it to church, we still did our eggs this afternoon...while trying to watch the KU game!

A hot shower and some clean jammies made her feel better.

Addison wore this princess dress most of the weekend.  Cutest thing ever.

We are so ready for Easter and Spring around here.  Ready for some warm weather, shorts and flip flops.

This and That

Man it has been a crazy month.  Between Lauren's birthday, parties and festivities, my birthday, and little Addison being sick the month has flown by! Oh, and now Lauren is sick too.  I am pretty sure she has 5th's Disease.  It sounds bad...disease and all, but it is not a big deal.  Her cheeks are rosy red and she has a pinpoint rash all over the trunk area.  It has spread down her legs as well and it itches.  She complains of her tummy hurting, but she is convinced that her tummy hurts from her tooth (more on that later.)

We have been busy on the weekends doing little things, birthday parties, work parties (at Power Play...very fun) , working out ( I am down 5 lbs!!!) , training for half marathons (Mark, not me) , running errands (it never ends), working on taxes (getting lots of $$ back!!), planning a summer vacation (southern California here we come!), house stuff (ceiling fans and light fixtures are next), and the list goes on and on.  I wanted to share a few pictures and a few things I don't want to forget.
Lauren and I on her birthday.  Every year I like to take a picture of me and the girls on their birthday.  I know it will be fun to look back at these over the years.

Does she look sick?  Nope...but man she was sick last week.  It started with a low grade fever on Superbowl Sunday and the day after (Lauren's birthday.) She seemed fine after staying home on Tuesday so we headed to daycare on Wednesday only to puke in the car and all over the car seat.  So we headed home and back to bed only to wake up and puke again.  Poor girl.  She was fine the rest of the day Wednesday so we attempted work and daycare again on Thursday.  1:00 I got the call that she had a fever again, 102.5 by the time I got her to the Dr's office.  They ran a bunch of tests that were all negative and decided it was probably the flu and the fever could linger for 5-7 days...So she and Mark hung out at home on Friday and we took it easy over the weekend.  Finally she seemed to get over things and headed back to daycare on Monday.

She seems better, huh?  Here she is running naked through the house, stalling at bath time.

Lauren finally lost her first tooth!  She was so excited!  It had been loose for several days and I was sure she would lose it on her birthday.  Well she did not loose it on her birthday, but she did the next morning!  She was eating breakfast at home with Mark (he was home with Addison) and when she was eating her pancakes she swallowed it!  Mark said she was so sad that she swallowed it.  Mark assured her that he would call the tooth fairy and let her know what happened.  The tooth fairy kindly left Lauren $5 under her pillow that night.  The new tooth is already starting to come it.  Actually, you could see it before she even lost her tooth.

Mark and Lauren had Donuts for Dads last week too.  Gramps came over and watched Addison so Mark could go up to the school with Lauren.  They both had a ton of fun.
Another big thing that was supposed to happen last week was Addison starting Preschool.  She was supposed to start on Monday the 6th, but since she was sick all week, she officially started this week.  She was not real happy about going to Preschool, and she did not want me to take her picture that morning.  She looked so cute.  I don't really know why she is scared or upset about Preschool.  She has done fine at the daycare all this time, but she kept saying she did not want to go.  She was separated from her best friend, Jenna, who is in another Preschool classroom.  She gets to play with Jenna several times throughout the day, but they are not together 100% of the time, which is what I think Addison wants.  When I picked her up, the teacher told me she did fine.  I knew she would.  When I took her back Tuesday the 14th she did fine, so I think she is OK!

Here is another great picture of me and the girls.  I love it!
