The Pumpkin Patch...Maybe The Last Time :(

Last Sunday afternoon we went to the pumpkin patch.  It was a gorgeous warm day...maybe too warm since it was the middle of October.  I asked the girls if they wanted to do the pumpkin patch this fall, or maybe a different event locally.  They begged for the pumpkin patch....so off we went.

I am sad to say they might be getting too old for the pumpkin patch.  They were a little bored with the activities and really just wanted to go pick out pumpkins.  Or maybe they were just hot!  Who knows?

It was still fun!  We got pumpkin donuts right when we arrived and devoured those quickly.  We went and saw the pigs and the goats, and played in one of the barns for a while.

They tolerated me taking all the pictures that day...because they just grow up too fast.

We really enjoyed the sunflowers and walking through all of them.  Even though there were bees on the sunflowers, they did not bug us at all.

Addison really wanted to take some sunflowers home and apparently you can. So at the end, her and  I went back and cut several to make a bouquet to take home.

Really, you can't have too many pictures like this, right?

This year we got lots of pumpkins and found some very unique ones.  We got orange, white, blue, green and even a red pumpkin.  Plus, we found a football shaped pumpkin.

I am hopefully this is not the last visit to the pumpkin patch.  Maybe, just maybe, I can drag the girls back next year....on a nice cool fall day!

Pumpkin Patch 2015

Sunday was a gorgeous day to be at the pumpkin patch.  With our crazy busy schedule these days, we had to find a way to fit it in sometime and Sunday after church was prefect.  It got a little toasty in the afternoon, but at times there was a nice breeze and overall a gorgeous day.

The girls seemed to love this scarecrow.  I have no idea why!

We got to see piglets born 2 days ago.  Even though they were pigs, they were absolutely adorable.

The inflatable pillow is always fun...for the 4 whole minutes they get to jump.  They could have stayed there all afternoon!

Lauren actually went back a second time when Addison and I went back to see the piglets. We also watched pumpkins being shot out of a cannon way up into the sky (like super high) and splashing down into the water.  The girls went though a playground maze thing several times, climbed on an old fire truck, and played in the sand a little bit as well.

The sunflowers were gorgeous.

If you look real close you can see a bee in the middle of the flower.  The girls were not thrilled to be near the sunflowers.

The hayride out to the pumpkin patch was fun. Both girls enjoyed it.  There was a nice breeze and we talked about last year when we came out to the pumpkin patch.  It was so muddy and wet, there was mud coming off the tractor tires and getting all over us.  Yuck! This year was much better.

It was pretty warm by the time we were out finding pumpkins.   But, we were on a hunt for orange pumpkins (of course,) green and white pumpkins.  We were successful in finding all of those.

Lauren wanted to take a picture of us with my big fancy camera, so I let her...not to bad, huh?

We searched and searched for the perfect pumpkins and found them.

After searching for pumpkins we hit the corn maze which ended up being one of the favorite things for the girls. Mark and I could hardly keep up with the girls as they dashed through the maze.   At the end, we were pretty hot and tired, but then it was time for lunch.  After lunch the girls hit a few more things for a second time before heading home.  Such a fun day at the pumpkin patch!

The Pumpkin Patch

Saturday was a gorgeous day for the pumpkin patch.  We tried a new one this year, KC Pumpkin Patch, and loved it.  It was fun to go to a new location (even though it was pretty far away!)

The zip line was the favorite thing for both girls.

There were several slides that the girls enjoyed.

Stopping for a second for a quick picture.

Taking a break, enjoying pumpkin donuts.

Lauren seemed to have a connection to this goat.

Then it was time for the huge orange pillow.  The girls had never been on something like this.  Again, they loved it.

Then it was time to head out to the pumpkin patch and pick some small pumpkins to take home.

The real corn maze out in the field was a good time.  Lauren led the way and had fun exploring.

If you look closely, Addison is holding a tiny green pumpkin...

Then she found a little bigger pumpkin to take home.

Another great year at the pumpkin patch is in the books.

Pumpkin Patch 2012

We hit Carolyn's Pumpkin Patch again this year.  It was a few weeks ago.  The day after it rained ALL day on Saturday.  We were a little worried about the mud, but it was fine.  There were a few big mud puddles, but we managed to stay away from them.  The field of pumpkins was actually pretty dry.  All the vines kept the mud away.

It was a pretty chilly start, but the girls still posed for a few pictures.  We got pumpkin donuts as soon as we arrived and warmed up in the red barn for a few minutes before heading over to feed the animals.

This baby goat was definitely their favorite little animal to feed.  It was the sweetest little thing.

This pictures cracks me up!  Lauren was totally getting into it!

This pumpkin patch has so much to do to keep the kids busy.  We were there for almost 4 hours so we stopped and played with everything.

The girls danced for a long time up on stage.

They even slowed down a little bit to pose for some pictures.

Addison loved the horse!

I could watch the two of them running around holding hands all day long.  Lauren always makes sure Addison is right there with her and well taken care of.

The muddiest part of our day was the tractor ride out to the pumpkins.  The tires were covered in mud...and the mud kept flipping off the tires and hitting us in the face, on our back, hair, hands, etc...we tried to laugh about it.  That was about all we could do!

I hope to keep up this tradition for several years to come.  I absolutely love the pumpkin patch.
