Cheer and Gymnastics

Lauren finished up her year at Cheer and Gymnastics last week.  She really enjoyed the combo class this year. She learned some cheer leading moves and focused on the floor (tumbling) routines for the gymnastics part.  She got to jump on the trampoline each week, and skipped the balance beam and bars every week.  She had a great year!

There was a lot of team work....

and as you can see she loved it (sorry for the red eyes...too tired to fix!)

Still loving the cheer moves.

Her floor routines are near perfect.

She has an incredible amount of strength.  With a little more confidence she could (and will do) really well in cheer and/or gymnastics (if I could only get get convinced to do competitive!)

She really worked on her form this year and finishing out the moves.

She can do a back bend on the ground (without the raised mat.)  She can kick over as well!

Hand stands are a new thing she enjoyed learning this past year.  She loves it when I try and do a hand stand with her as well.

She was so excited to get her own trophy at the end.  It sits proudly on her dresser at  home!

It was a great year of cheer leading and gymnastics. Lauren became more confident in her moves and her ability and really had a lot of fun.  Way to go Lauren!

Gymnastics and Soccer Wrap Up

Last week both the girls wrapped up their spring activities.  Lauren finished another year of gymnastics, and Addison finished her first season of soccer.

Lauren had a gymnastics meet where she was able to perform everything she learned this year.  She is only in recreational gymnastics, so she does not routinely have meets or anything.  She just practices once a week.  I would love to put her in competitive gymnastics, whenever she is ready.  She is really good in several events and really enjoys it.
I think the balance beam is what she has improved on the most this year.  She has gotten very brave and strong.  She also does great on the bars.  She really likes to flip over!

The floor routine is definitely her strongest event.  She can do bridges and cartwheels with ease and almost perfection.

The same night Addison finished her soccer season.  Putting her in soccer might have been a little premature.  She said she did not like "kicking the ball because it goes away from me."  Well, the whole point of soccer, huh?
I still can't get over how cute she looked in the Umbro shorts.

She did very well for the most part.  3 1/2 might have been a little young, but she took it with her friend Jenna and they seemed to have fun most weeks.  She had some ups and downs, but did better and better each week.
She seemed to have the most fun playing with the black rubber chips.  She would have been perfectly happy each week sitting around playing with those.
This picture is too cute not to share again.  These 2 are buddies!

We are looking forward to having the summer off from any activities.  We might start up again after the 4th of July, or might wait will school starts again.  Lauren wants to continue gymnastics and Addison said she wants to do dance with her friend Ava.  We will have to decide on the whole dance thing.  We had Lauren in it one year and she was so darn cute, that I will probably put Addison in dance for a year too.
