This was my conversation with Lauren on Sunday...
Lauren: "I need to go poopy Mommy"
Ashley: "ok...then go poopy."
Lauren: "We don't eat poopy."
Ashley: "No Lauren we don't eat poopy"
Lauren: " I touched the poopy."
Ashley: "Oh Yuk...we don't touch poopy."
Lauren: "Why not...it did not get my hands dirty."
Ashley: "Was it your poopy?"
Lauren: "No Mommy...it was someone else's poopy. I touched the potty too."
So gross....and where were the teachers???

Father's Day Weekend
As part of my Father's Day gift, I asked Ashley if I could write this weekend's blog. She, thinking wow, a free gift, agreed without hesitation. So here goes nothing.
On Saturday, we went out to the newly renovated Kaufman Stadium to see the Royals play the Cardinals. Ashley had been there, but I hadn't seen it yet. Wow. Well done, city of Kansas City.
We had decided it was time we took Lauren to another baseball game. It was Commerce Bank "Day at the K"(cheap tickets and food tent), so we headed out. No, we didn't leave Addison home alone...we got a babysitter.
We never did end up in our seats. Lauren's best friend from school was there, with his parents, who also work for Commerce. Her pigtails are Daddy's favorite.
Below is the carousel out in the Outfield Experience. Lauren got to go on it twice, but absolutely refused to run the bases. But we did play on the playground out there and checked out everything else.
Lauren was so cute when she saw Killian. She just ran towards him shouting his name. I think they are absolutely adorable together.

Lauren is the best. Today, she gave me a coupon that she made at school. It said "1 coupon--Good for picking up bunnies". After a few hours on and off of deliberation, I finally figured out this is a coupon for me to spot a bunny out the window over the kitchen sink, and to grab her and lift her up to look out the window. Nothing makes me happier than kisses from my Boo.

My Sweet little Addison. I tell you what folks, this little angel's smile lights me up like 4th of July fireworks. I think it is because she smiles with not only her mouth and cheeks, but her whole face. Her eyes get a little sparkle in them.

Well...we are now wrapping up Father's day and I have babbled on. But to quote Gary Cooper in Pride of the Yankees (I don't expect any non-sports fan or anybody under 60 to get this)..... Today, I consider myself to be luckiest man on the face of the Earth.

Busy times around here
Nothing too exciting has been going on we just have been busy with lots of little things. After we got back from Des Moines Mark was off for the week. We got a new shed, which Mark has been asking for for over 2 years now. The garage just kept getting smaller and smaller with all the kids stuff we were accumulating. So the shed was built and then Mark painted it and filled it up with all of his stuff. Needless to say, he loves it!
Well then the AC went out. So Mark spent a few days meeting with AC guys to figure out what to do. So we ended up with a new AC today. Not the way I really want to spend my money but what can you do. Oh and today when Mark was mowing the mower just quit working..nice...and the weed eater has not worked for about a week now. When it rains it pours. So we need to get a few more things fixed and then we need to stop spending $$$$$.
The girls continue to fill our lives with such joy. We truly adore them. They are so much fun. Lauren spent the day with Nana B today and I think she had a great time.
A few cute pictures of Addison in her summer clothes. They are all new clothes. Lauren's 6-12 month clothes are fall and winter, so I got to buy all new ones for Addison.
Lauren still loves to play in her little pools. When we were up in Des Moines she had fun playing with Emma in an outdoor playhouse. So I found her one on craigslist for a great price and picked it up on Friday. Well, she does not like the bugs in the house. Of course, it is outside, under the fort on the play set. I have tried to tell her that the house is outside and it is going to have a few bugs in it, but she is still scared of the bugs. So hopefully she will get over it and have fun in the playhouse.

Addison is starting to take table food. She is eating toast in this picture. I have also given her peaches, bananas, pears, and puffs. She is doing really good. Her teacher at daycare is also starting to introduce solid foods, so she will be off baby food in no time. She is growing so fast.
A cute picture that Mark took while he was at home with the girls. I did not like going to work while Mark had the rest of the week of to play with the girls. It was just not fair!

We have a busy summer planned with almost every weekend full of fun events. I will try and keep everyone posted with lots of pictures.

No More Ear Infection
YEA!!!!!!!! Addison is finally over her ear infection that she has been battling for about a month now. We have been seeing one of the Dr's at the office (but not her PCP) since we have been going to Urgent Care over the last month. Today I called and asked the nurses to have Dr. Gladstone (her pediatrician) call me to talk about Addison's chronic ear infections. Dr. Gladstone is such a GREAT Dr. She called me after reviewing Addison's chart and talked to me for about 10 minutes while I was at work. She asked if we could come in today at 4 and she would see Addison herself and talk to us about going to see ENT if we needed to.
Well after taking a good look at Addison she told us her ear infection is gone for now. She still has some fluid in her ears and that could be there for 6-8 weeks after an infection. She spent about 20 minutes with us talking about what the future might hold if Addison continues to battle ear infections (tubes of course.)
I take care of very sick babies at the hospital, and I know in the whole scheme of things ear infections are completely not a big deal, but Dr. Gladstone made us feel very comfortable and answered all of our questions.
So for now Addison is healthy, happy as ever and cute as can be. Tonight she was screaming, then laughing, screaming, then laughing, screaming, then laughing...it was SO cute. She is such a little doll. We just adore her.

Weekend in Des Moines
We headed to Des Moines this past weekend to hang out with some friends from college. Several of Mark's fraternity brothers live in the Des Moines area so we took a long weekend up there, stayed at a hotel, and enjoyed a BBQ and a great lasagna dinner. It was so great to see the Oakes, the Watson's, the Douds x3 (jimmy, chris, and dan) the Easton's, and all the kids...lots of kids running around. The weather was beautiful so the kids were able to play outside and run around. All the kids had so much fun.
Lauren loved to sit Calvin's motorcycle. The battery was dead so she could not drive it around, of course if it was working then she would not want to play on it.
Addison just hung out all weekend. She was passed around from person to person and never cried or got upset. She took a few cat naps, and slept in bed with me at night. That was the most challenging was getting her to take naps. She is such an easy going adaptable baby that just let us take her anywhere. She is always full of smiles.
Bridget was worried that Lauren would not have any girl toys to play with. Who needs girl toys when you have Star Wars swords...I think that is what that is! She loved all the boys toys.
Sunday morning we headed to the Zoo. It is such a great zoo because it is small and has all the animals that kids know and love. Lauren had a blast with Calvin and Carson and Addison just hung out in the stroller checking things out.

Both the girls loved the train ride. When we got on Addison started clapping her hands and "talking" and waving her arms. She was so excited to be on the train. It was so cute. Of course, Lauren loved the train, she always does. Train rides are so much fun to her.

Looking at the penguins and seals with Daddy.
Sunday night Jim and Tammy had everyone over. Tammy fixed a huge lasagna, and had a cake for Bridgit's birthday. Again, Lauren loved playing outside with the kids. Emma was her favorite friend (Brian and Abby's daughter) Addison just hung out on the floor and played with toys. Laughing and smiling the whole time.

Monday morning we went to a place called Backyard Adventures. The build play sets and at their showroom they have open play for $5. It was great. It was like having 8 playgrounds all in one. Carson and Bridgit met us there and the kids played, ran, and laughed for 2 hours. After that we had lunch and then headed back home. The girls slept for almost 2 hours on the way home. It made for a great trip.
We are looking forward to many more trips to Des Moines. We think we will start making it a yearly thing. We really have fun seeing everyone up there.
