It's Almost October Already!!!

Mark asked me when I was going to blog again?  Has it been that long?  Fall is here and we are so busy.  School is back in session, homework each night, Girl Scouts, Religion class, and dance class keep us busy as week.  Oh, and we almost bought a house.  Well, built a house.  We went out looking, just to see what was out there.  We stumbled upon a beautiful house in the perfect neighborhood and the perfect price. However, the timing of everything was just not meant to be (put our house on the market on October 1st and hope it sells this fall, but not too early because we don't want to be living in a hotel for Christmas, and on and on and on...) We spent many late nights looking at all the possible scenarios and just decided to stay put...for now at least.
We enjoyed a great night at the Hoke's house...they were convincing us off all the reasons why we needed to move into their neighborhood.

I found a new beer that I love...and Denise did too!  She drank it in less than 5 minutes, I swear!

We had Girl Scout night at the roller skating rink.  Lauren has gotten really good.

Addison insisted on skating, but didn't go far.

Lauren and I went to see the One Direction movie...finally.  She had to earn it back after loosing it 2 weekends in a row.

We hit Ms. Pat's church carnival...like we do every year.  We love it!

Crazy Addison and I did a little shopping one week after church.

Lauren apparently really loves Louis, from One Direction.  (If you see her, don't bring up this letter.  She would be very embarrassed.)

I finally went to the Doctor to get my hip looked at.  The x-ray was normal.  Basically I have bursitis (inflammation and swelling of the fluid filled sac between my muscle, tendons, and joints.)  When I asked the Dr. how long it would take to heal he said "however long it takes."  When I asked him when I can run again, he said "when it doesn't hurt." When I asked him what activities I can do until I can run again, he said "whatever doesn't cause any pain."  Well, thanks Doc.  So....I am still resting, no running, no cardio, not even lifting lower body.  When I carried Addison on my back recently, that made my hip hurt the next morning.  So I wait...patiently.

Dance class is adorable.  I will try and snap a picture of Lauren next week.  Addison loves it (she is in the red tutu.)

We hit Oktoberfest Friday night.  It was so much fun!

We met up with the neighbors.  Andy and Addison are trouble for sure.

That blur is Lauren doing down the big slide over and over and over again!

Addison loved it too.

The girls enjoyed cotton candy...

The adults enjoyed some beer...

Then we found these girls..Jenna and Emma, and the real fun began.  (Love the blurry I-Phone picture of Addison and her crazy face.)

Lauren and Riley rode the Dumbo ride...

and so did the little girls...I LOVE Addison's smile/laugh/screaming in this picture.

Another beer for the long walk to the car.

Saturday night was the BBQ/Beer making party with our neighbors.  Brandon, our neighbor, brews beer.  Per Mark, it is very good.  I never like Brandon's beer.  I am more of a "it better not taste like beer" kind of beer drinker (Angry Orchard, Apple Cider is my kind of beer.)

Then it was birthday party at Paradise Park (after church and school picture clothes shopping.)

Paradise Park is always fun.  They loved the bumper cars.

Then I found Addison here...asleep...who knows how long she had been there!  But, I picked her up, took her to her bed, and she stayed asleep the rest of the night!

Fall Pictures

Saturday morning we had to get dressed up for church pictures, so since the girls were both in blue I decided to snap a few of my own.  They were not all that cooperative, so I did not get any together that I REALLY like, but I got some of the two of them apart and I love them. Such beautiful girls if you ask me!

Random Stuff Lately

Lauren's Girl Scout meeting was here last week...gorgeous, huh?

The next morning this was the sunrise...

Lauren loves her Brownie sash.

Friday I picked her up early and took her to Orange Leaf (of course)

This was the damage done in Addison's room before 7:00 A.M. this past Saturday morning.  #whywontmykidssleepin

I found multiple pictures like this on my phone...multiple times a day.  Crazy Lauren.

We love our new Husker gear!  Let's not talk about how much $$ we spent at Rally House.  I love that place, but it is such a rip off!

Dinner in the living room, watching football, and both girls excited about the game!  It was a great Saturday watching Nebraska football!

This Started Tonight

They are both taking dance this year.  They both loved it tonight.  They both wanted to know what song they would be dancing to at Recital (to be held in June 2014.)  Needless to say, it was a good 1st night back to dance class.

Lauren has done gymnastics the past 3 years and is a very talented gymnast.  But, after recital this past summer with Addison, Lauren decided she wanted to do dance also.  She was ready to get started tonight.

Both of them were so excited to get inside.

They agreed to a few quick pictures from Mom...thanks girls.

Then we ran into Emma and Claire (who we just saw a daycare a short 5 minutes earlier) and they all were so excited.  Addison, Emma and Claire are all in the same class.  Dance Sampler 2.  Tap and Ballet.  Lauren is in Tap and Jazz.

The girls patiently waited for the big girls to finish before they went into their studio to start dancing.
The look on Addison's face cracks me up...she had fun tonight.

Lauren is doing tap here, but she really loved Jazz.  Jazz is a little more risky, but I like to see Lauren enjoy something, work hard, build some confidence with learning routines and moves, and have fun!  She had a smaller class, which is perfect for her.  Some personal attention.  She said she really liked the teacher (which was Addison's teacher last year) and I like her too!

So here we go.  Two girls in dance class.  We will see where this takes us!  So far it is fun!

Labor Day Weekend

The unofficial end of summer was busy...

We hit the pool one last time...

Mark and Lauren jumped into the deep end (12 feet) over and over and over again.

Family came over for a BBQ

Lauren assumed her role of watching Sophie.  Sophie is such a doll.

Mark and I had date night Friday night.  One of the daycare teachers quit to go to school full time and the girls were begging to see her...so we had her over to babysit while Mark and I went out.  We went to dinner on the Plaza at Seasons 52.   It is a restaurant I have been wanting to try for a very long time.  It was wonderful.  The menu changes 4 times a year, and they have weekly special that change as well.  It is a very healthy restaurant with each item on the menu under 475 calories.

The girls had fun at the park and then out to dinner as well.  Ms. Morgan is too good to Lauren and Addison.

Lauren taught Addison how to play UNO this weekend.

Then we hit the Zoo on Monday.  It was a gorgeous day.  We stayed for 5 hours and had a lot of fun.

It was a great unofficial end of Summer.  Dance class starts this week, we have Girl Scouts on Tuesday night again, and religion class next week.  School is definitely back in full force.
