Summer and Baseball

It's just not summer if you don't go to a baseball game.  Royals game to be exact.  This weekend was Commerce Day at the K.  Commerce bank does this every summer, although the past few summers it was out at the Sporting Park to see the soccer team play.  We were back at the Royals stadium this summer and it was hot!  We hit the BBQ tent before the game for dinner and then went straight to the water at the playground to cool off!

Addison had a blast getting soaked!

Lauren and Killian had fun on the playground.  We usually go to the game with the Wrights since they work at Commerce Bank as well.  Here they are in 20112010,  We always have a great time with them!

We parked so far away from the BBQ tent what we hitched a ride on a golf cart.  The benefits of having small kids with you!

We stopped in the gift shop to cool off for a while...

Then we got snow cones and headed to our seats.

The kids were hot...but wet from the water so they were fine!

The girls wanted to go up to the very top to watch the game...so up we went.  They love sitting at the top watching the game. They love to be able to see the whole field and see how small the players are!

We stayed until the end and watched the Royals win.  That was fun!

They could run the bases on the Little K after the game.  They loved it.

Then we had a nice lady snap a picture of us (since Addison's attempt at a picture cut our heads off!)

Then we tried to get a family picture, but Lauren wouldn't join us...so it's just the 3 of us!

Summer Fun

Blogging has totally taken a back seat this summer between the move, starting a new job, the move, and the job.  Both have been pretty overwhelming!  But, things are starting to slow down and we are finally getting settled in the new house.  We have been there about 3 weeks now!  It still doesn't feel like home, but soon I know it will.  It is a great house and I am ready to start making some incredible memories for our family in our house!

We have taken some time to go to the park here and there!

We have been to the Zoo a few times!

I am always finding random pictures of Lauren on my phone!

We took our bikes to the park one day and rode around the small pond!

We hung out at Downtown Days with friends.  Lauren and Jacklyn have so much fun together.

We have gone to several home decor stores and the girls have been very patient.  They get a little bored at times as Mark and I wonder around Pier 1, Home Goods, Kirkland's, etc...looking and looking.  But, they have fun!

We drove by our first house together and it was on the market!  Mark owned this house when we got married and we lived there together for about 1 1/2 years.  The girls really loved seeing it, and we really wanted to go inside and take a look around...but we didn't!

Addison has done 3 rounds of swim lessons...she loves to swim and might end up being our swim team girl!

We have spent a lot of time at our neighborhood pool!  Cassidy came over for a play date with Lauren ( and Addison too!)

Zoe has found a great place to sleep in the new house...

4th of July Festivities

We spent 3 days celebrating the 4th of July!  It started with a neighborhood pool party on Wednesday night.  It was really chilly outside....Lauren swam for about 30 minutes and then decided it was too cold!  Addison lost swimming, but was able to go down to the pool for the pizza party and ice cream.  Lauren found 2 friends she already knew from church and dance, so she had a blast with her friends and I was not able to get a picture of her!

My crazy Addison is always ready to pose for a picture.  She is such a clown.  We had a great time at the pool party and met so many great neighbors in our new neighborhood!  Like I have said...we love our neighborhood and are looking forward to meeting many others!

Thursday night we headed to a friends house to watch the Legacy Park fireworks.  We could have seen the fireworks from our house, but we always go to the Miller's house (if we are in town) so we headed there again.  There were tons of kids there!

Addison got a little burn on her neck from the fireworks, so she laid low for a while, cuddled up under a blanket.

A pretty good family selfie.  It is hard to get all 4 of us in a picture!

We spent the 4th of July at the pool for a few hours and then headed to my sister's house for a BBQ and fireworks.

The watermelon was a hit!  The kids loved it!

Again, always posing for the camera.

We had fun with Claire's cousins (Sara and Anna.)  It is hard for Lauren and Addison to understand that Anna and Sara are not their cousins as well.  We always have a blast with these girls!

This picture of Lauren and Anna is one of my favorites.  The pure excitement and joy of the 4th of July holiday from the eyes of a kid! I love it!

Dance Recital 2014

2 days after we moved the Dance Rectial events began!  Friday we had dress rehearsal for several hours during the day, and then that night we headed back up to the high school for our first show.

Addison absolutely loved her costume and the thought of make up.  She did wonderful up on stage.

Here is Addison and some of her little friends, plus her cousin Claire.

Even though there is no smile, Addison loved the ending pose to her dance.

Then it was Lauren's turn to get up on stage.  She loved this Jazz routine and  had a ton of fun practicing it.

Look at that move!  I love it!

Lauren's best friend at school this year was Jackeline.  These 2 are so close and absolutely adore each other.  Both girls are going to new schools this fall, so we will have to try very hard to keep them together with play dates and swim parties.

Mark, Super Dad, went up to wait in line around 5.  He took a chair and a book and relaxed for an hour or so.  I know he loved it with all the craziness of moving, this hour was nice and relaxing for him.

Saturday afternoon show Mark brought up flowers for the girls.

Here they are back stage waiting to perform.  Blankets, snacks, movies, coloring books, costumes, make up, shoes, hair spray, you name it...it was back stage.

Saturday night was our final show.  As you can see, Addison loved this pose!

Lauren loved the make up for the show as well.  I know she is way to young to wear make up, but she looked so pretty with a touch of mascara and some lip stick!  Such a beautiful little girl!

One of the kids (little girls) got all of Addison's class together to pose for a picture. She did a pretty good job!

Dance Recital 2014 was great!  The girls did amazing up on stage and even though it was exhausting after moving 2 days earlier, it was a great weekend and a ton of fun!
