This weekend has been crazy, filled with fun as Addison finishes out her first year in dance. I think we might have a little dancer here that might enjoy taking dance for several years to come.
The weekend started on Friday morning at 9:00 with dress rehearsal up at the high school.
Addison and her friends had fun watching the big girls dance as they patiently waited their turn to go up on stage. It was the sweetest thing ever watching our little girls dance with the big girls.
We were not allowed to take pictures during the performance on Friday and Saturday night, but we could take as many as we wanted at the rehearsal. The girls did so good.
Friday night my whole family was there to watch Addison perform. I took her backstage and got her ready, then I went to watch the show as well.
Claire, my niece, also takes dance at the Heart of America Dance Studio. It was so fun having Jen and Claire backstage with us.
We tried to get a good picture of all 4 of us. At least Jen and I look good! Addison and Claire were having fun, which is what matters most.
Then we went out to find Mark and Lauren waiting in the long ling to get into the auditorium. It was crazy packed, but we found them! Mark and Lauren stopped and got flowers for Addison. She loved them.

A few attempts later we got a pretty good family photo!
Gramps found us and hopped in with the Grandma's. Great picture!
Friday night Addison did awesome up on stage. She was full of smiles and did a great job. We really enjoyed watching her perform.
Saturday we had a matinee show. All the girls were a little cranky and tired at this performance. There were a lot more grouchy girls and tears this afternoon!
I was a backstage Mom helping out all day Saturday. Fun, but exhausting at the same time.
The girls entertained themselves pretty well...
Addison had fun hanging out with Kaylin, her little friend from swim lessons (and one of my co-workers daughter!)
As you can see, Saturday afternoon was a little rough. There were lots of tears, and not a lot of excitement to go on stage.
But, she snapped out of it and did great up on stage!
Being a back stage Mom has its perks!
Karina (Kaylin's Mom) and I, early in the day...not too worn out yet!
Saturday afternoon Addison took a long nap and was pretty excited to go back up to the high school for performance #3. Ms. Melissa was Addison's head teacher.
Lakin was the assistant in the class. Addison enjoyed having class with both of these girls.
Mark and Lauren snuck up Saturday night for a peek at Addison's performance. Lauren brought Addison flowers and she was so excited to see her sissy there!
We spent a lot of time waiting to go on stage. Most of the girls did really good!
One of our many attempts at a group picture. Addison looks good!
Addison was so excited to see Mark. She gave him a big hug!
It has been a great weekend and a fun dance season. Addison did really well. She seems to love dance, had no fear about going up on stage, and will probably dance again next year! We all survived Recital and created lots of great memories.
