Powder Puff Derby

This past weekend, Addison and her daisy troop participated in the Powder Puff Derby (the Pinewood Derby for Girl Scouts.)

Although she was not thrilled to be participating, I know she had fun once the races got started.  Mark and Addison worked on her car on several different occasions to make it just perfect.  Addison always seemed to enjoy working on the car with Mark, she just kept complaining that she didn't want to go to the derby.  Well, since I am the leader of the troop, she had to!

Her car was not very fast and the disappointment on Mark's face the first time it raced was so sad.  She raced 4 different times and her little car usually came in 3rd or 4th place.  Addison didn't seem to mind.  She was having fun with her friends!

Here are most of the girls in my troop.  Getting ready for the race.

She might not admit it, but I know she had fun!

Anxiously waiting for her car to race.

In the end, they all seemed to have fun.  The Power Puff Derby was a great event that I think all the girls enjoyed.  It was packed with lots of families cheering on all the girls.

These two working on the car together for hours on end means more to Mark than anything in the world.  It was a great daddy daughter event!  Hopefully Addison will be excited to participate next year.

Christmas at Gramp's and Nana's House

Is it too late to post about Christmas?  I think not!  Better late than never!

My Dad is forever trying to get all 4 girls to smile and look at the camera.  I think it gets easier and easier as they grow older!

Addison is always ready and smiling!

Claire and Addison are trouble.  Double trouble.  They always have a ton of fun together when they see each other.

Lauren and Sophie are buddies.

This guy was in the kitchen most of the night helping make the turkey!

I caught these two snacking before dinner.

Sophie waited very patiently to open her gifts this year.

Addison was very excited about her Monster High toys!

Lauren hung out close to me all night.  She still didn't feel good on Christmas day.  It was such a bummer.  My Dad always makes some thing out of wood for us for Christmas.  This bowl is beautiful.

Each year Mama gets a calendar of the great grand kids.

My mini me.  People say we look just alike, although I don't always see it.

See that smile on Lauren's face?  She opened Mama's gift of $50 and was hanging out with her Nana B.

Although it seems like Christmas was forever ago, it was a great holiday season.  Until next year!
