I love our little town and the fall festivals and Summer Downtown Days that we have. Funnel cakes, corn dogs, completely unsafe carnival rides, little dancers up on stage, cotton candy, snow cones, arts and crafts booths, and much much more.
Addison and Jenna performed at Downtown Days this weekend.
My niece, Claire did also! These girls did so good.
We have to practice at the dance studio around 11 and perform around 2. So, in between we had a picnic. We packed sack lunches, gathered under a tree, sat on the blanket, and relaxed for about an hour. It was wonderful and the girls had so much fun.
Around 2:00 it was showtime...right in the middle of nap(rest) time. Little Addison was pretty tired, but did great. She knows all the moves to her dance, but she was a lot less animated up on stage. I think the stage might have freaked her out a little bit.
They looked adorable and I can't wait for recital in a few weeks. These girls are going to have so much fun.
Then it was time for snow cones, cotton candy, and carnival rides. Lauren found this Make It Yourself snow cone place right away and she knew that was the treat she wanted. She was in heaven.
Mark snapped a quick picture of the "dance Moms" in our recital shirts. (Heart of America Dance Center... AC DC. I love the shirts!)
Then we found cotton candy for Addison. She was a sticky mess in no time!
Next up, carnival rides.
Lauren stuck to the carousel...
While Addison and I (almost puked) went on the forever long ride that went round and round FOREVER. Oh my, the things we do for our kids...I got off dizzy, light headed and nauseous...a slice of pizza and a bottle of water took care of that. Never again Addison! That one has no fear.
Lauren's kind of ride...with Addison and Jenna.
Then Mark introduced the girls to funnel cakes. They loved them as much as he did.
Great day at Downtown Days. We saw so many friends and people from dance and around the community. I love our town and the many activities we have. It was a great weekend.
