Addison gets rice cereal

I decided it was time to start Addison on rice cereal. She watches us eat dinner and it really looked like she was ready. So I brought out the highchair that I hated with Lauren and decided to give it another try... I like my new high chair. This thing is kind of neat.
What is this...I don't know about this mommy...

That taste's yucky. No more mommy.

Give me more...give me more...
She did really well. I was so surprised. We will try again tomorrow and see how she does!

Lauren's birthday pictures

Lauren's birthday party was so much fun. Here are some pictures finally.
Wearing a dress and sandals on her birthday in February...so pretty!

She loves Aerial from The Little Mermaid.

The boys drove Lauren around all night in her car. They had so much fun. Towards the end she finally drove the car and had the biggest smile on her face. It was so sweet. She keeps talking about Killian, Landen and Aiden. She wants all of them to come back over and drive her car!

She was not happy about everyone singing Happy Birthday to her. She really does not like to be in the spotlight. AS soon as we were done and everyone started eating cake she was fine!

Well Child Check-ups

I took both the girls to the DR. this morning for their well child checks. Lauren 3 years old and Addison 4 months old. The visit went really well. Here is the low down:

Lauren is:
  • 28 lbs which is the 25%
  • 37 inches which is the 50%
  • She did great with her shot and daddy took her to McDonalds for being so brave.

Addison is:

  • 12 lbs 14oz which is the 25% and 2 oz less than Lauren was at 4 months
  • 24 1/2 inches which is 50% and 1/2 inch taller than Lauren was at 4 months
  • The DR. gave me lots of tips for trying to get Addison so sleep more at night. She continues to wake up every 4 hours to eat...so she is up at 11 and 3 each night. YAWN :)

Our pediatrician is wonderful and spent lots of time talking to me with all the questions/concerns I had with the girls. Mark showed up at the end of the visit to take the girls home so I could to go to work in the afternoon.

I hope to get some pictures posted soon. Mark is working very hard to get the computer fixed.

The birthday party

I guess you could call it blissful chaos. Lauren's birthday party was a lot of fun and rather exhausting. We had 4 three year-olds running around the house, 3 of them boys. Lauren's cousin Claire was also there and she just turned one.

Lauren really does not like attention on her, so when we sang happy birthday to her she cried and cried. Once we were done and birthday cake was in front of her she was fine!

We got her a barbie jeep that she is scared of and won't drive. However Saturday night all the boys drove her around. The boys loved the car and all took turns driving around. Lauren laughed and giggled the whole time. Finally after about 20 minutes she decided to drive and loved it! Too bad on Sunday she was scared again and not driving. She wanted Killian to come over and drive her around!

I hope to get the computer fixed this week and post some pictures from the party. We really had a good time.

Happy 3rd Birthday Lauren

She was up at 6:30 this morning full of smiles. I sang happy birthday to her probably 5 times this morning and she had a huge smile on her face each time. She is so excited for her birthday. We took cupcakes to school...Aerial for the girls....Madagascar for the boys.

The birthday fairy dropped off a few gifts this morning and Lauren was very excited. Actually the items I ordered from Old Navy came last night and Mark saw the package this morning when he got the paper. So the birthday fairy brought Lauren some clothes, an umbrella, and some Aerial panties I picked up from Walmart last night.

She played with the umbrella all morning while I got Addison fed and ready for school. I have a feeling the umbrella is going to be her favorite gift.

Grandma is coming down for the weekend for Lauren's party so Lauren is excited for that. We are going to Mc Donald's tonight for dinner...that is where she wanted to go!

Happy Birthday Lauren

More antibiotics for Addison

I took her to Urgent care last night at our Dr's office and thank goodness that I did. She has a double ear infection. Poor little girl. So now she is on Augmentin, a stronger antibiotic. She had a horrible night. She was awake every 2 hours to eat. She ate at midnight and was awake until 1 and then was back awake at 2 and 4. So at 4 I decided I was not going to work today. Mark was going to stay home since it was his turn, but being awake so much in the night I just decided it would be torture to try and function at work on such little sleep. So I am home again...thank goodness I have a very understanding boss.

Lauren is a little under the weather also. I am not real sure what is wrong with her, but she did have a low grade fever yesterday afternoon. So she is home with me today too, just hanging out. So far we are having a good day.

Our computer has been acting up so I have not been able to post any pictures. Soon Mark will have it up and running again and I will post some pictures. Hopefully by this weekend since it is Lauren's birthday! She is getting very excited.

Is it Spring yet?

I HATE winter and daycare. The two combinations equal sick kids. Got a call from daycare today around noon that Addison had another temperature....seriously...this is crazy. She started having a runny nose on Saturday and I knew for sure she would spike a temp this week but I did not think it would be today. She is only 4 months old and I know she has to get exposed to all these bugs and have all these fevers but she just can't seem to get better. She had a rough night last night. She did not really want to eat when she was awake and crying so I did not know what to do with her. Mark helped me get her calmed down and she finally ate and finally went to sleep.

Then Lauren was up and crying at 2 in the morning saying she wanted to wake up. Oh no...it is 2 in the morning...you are not waking up...go back to sleep...then she wanted a drink of water...and then I think she finally fell back to sleep...

Well as I sit here and type this daycare calls...this time it is Lauren's teacher...Lauren has a fever...ARE YOU KIDDING ME?...this is crazy...

Thankfully I have a very understanding boss who knows how hard it is to work full time and have small children. So I went home early today...and I told her I would be there tomorrow and Mark would stay home with Addison...That was before I knew that Lauren had a fever. So now I don't know what I will do

Oh and on top of that...I still have no PTO...it accrues based on hours worked...and well I have missed a lot of work and I have used the little bit that I have accrued to make up for the hours missed...

Come on Spring :)
