Summer---Chapter 2

Our summer is flying by!  We are having a great summer so far and can't wait for vacation that is coming up soon!

It is hard to see in this picture, but all 4 grand kids were picked up by Nana one morning when the daycare called and they had no AC and it was hot outside.  I was stuck at work and so was my sister.  Thankfully, Nana came to the rescue and pick up the grand kids and took them to the water park!

Lauren had an orthodontics consult this summer. $$$$$.  Enough said. Braces, car, college.  We are always saving for something with these girls.

Addison is always up for a picture.  Here and I spent one evening at a local park.

The annual Commerce Day at the K where it is usually 100+ degrees.  Every single year.  This year we were lucky enough to have seats in the sun.  Most of the game.  It was sooo hot.  If you can't read Mark's shirt it says "I am the proud Dad of a Freaking awesome Daughter that loves the Royals.  Yes, she bought me this shirt."  That was Lauren's Father's Day gift to Mark.  They both loved it.

Addison got a new Royals shirt at the game...because Lauren got new flip flips.  Of course, the ones she was wearing broke as we were walking to the picnic.  I was so glad one of the many gift shops out at the baseball stadium carried Royals flip flops.  Lauren was so excited!

Addison and I spent a lot of time in the AC in the Hall of Fame.  The Royals were playing awful.  The score was 7-1 at the end of the 2nd inning.  We were all ready to go...but not Lauren.  We stayed the entire game.  We even got to see Butera (our catcher) pitch in the top of the 9th.  Yea, awful game.

We enjoyed a Girl Scout swimming party...complete with thunderstorms.

I love this selfie Lauren took on my phone.  She is so beautiful!

My garden is thriving.  Cucumbers and zucchini this year. I wanted to plant more and expand by garden, but since Ginger at all my spring bulbs, I decided not this year.  Maybe next year?

I love this flag the girls made before our 4th of July party.  Lee's Summit puts on a huge display of fireworks every year and we can see them from our driveway.

Addison was ready for her friends to come over!

Lauren and Lauren.  Best buddies!

Little Lexi!

My niece, Claire!

Our old neighbors from Adams street...Cody and Andy.  I miss having those neighbors right down the street. We had a great time visiting with Becca and Brandon.

Addison stole my phone and took a selfie!

Then there is Ginger.  She did not seem to mind the fireworks Friday night...but 4th of July night was another story.  She hated them.  It was a gorgeous weekend after the rain stopped.  Nice and cool..  I took a nap on the patio and Lauren curled up in a blanket to relax.  The outdoor furniture is the only furniture we allow Ginger on and we all love it!

Happy 4th of July and Summer!

Happy 4th of July

We have had a fun last couple of days.  Our town puts on a big fireworks show on July 3rd, so we were able to enjoy that at a friends house Wednesday night.

The house was full of boys...and our two girls.  I think they had a fun night!

Neither one of my girls care for the loud booms that the 4th of July brings.  Addison was able to borrow some headphones from one of the boys.

Then we headed up to Omaha to spend the 4th of July with old college friends.  It was a great night!

Dinner was awesome...

and so was dessert!

The ladies of the night!

and the guys.  Old college buddies that have stayed great friends for years. I love these guys, their wives, and kids.  It was an awesome 4th of July spent with friends.  A gorgeous night, tons of fireworks, great eats, great drinks, great conversation and so much fun!  Happy 4th of July America!
