I got some new artwork this week for the house. Well, not really art work, but what else do you call it? Home decor I guess. It is our new Family Rules sign. It is something I wanted in the house for a while now, and it is posted right next to the door the heads out to the garage. Everyday when we leave we can be reminded of the Family Rules.
Several months ago I found this on the Internet. It is taped to the pantry and has worked fine all this time. But, I knew I wanted something different. Something bigger. I was so glad when I finally found the perfect Family Rules sign for not a lot of $$.

And the fact that he had to text me right away and tell me his new idea, rather than waiting for me to get home and tell me his idea. I love it!
We have also decided to start a chore chart with $$ (allowance) as a reward. $4 for Lauren and $2 for Addison. If they want something special (toy, fake glasses, sunglasses, candy, etc...) they will start paying with it with their OWN money. So far, so good this week. Tomorrow morning is payday. I am sure they will be thrilled. It is never too early to start teaching them about finances, right?
