October 2012

It has been a busy month with tons of things I did not even get a chance to blog about...so here you go!
Addison had Halloween costume night  at dance last week.  It was so cute seeing all the little girls dressed up.

The Toys R Us Christmas magazine came in the mail...Addison circled the whole book! And both the Grandma's called wanting ideas from the girls...

Our neighbor got married.  The girls loved dancing with the bride.

Gorgeous Saturday morning.  Mark was out on a long run when I snapped this picture.  He is running his 3rd half marathon in 2 weeks!

Lauren did not hardly circle a thing in the Christmas toy book.  We are going to have to get a few more ideas from her.

We have been watching a lot of Nebraska football.

We made puppy chow one night.

Had fun at Laurens school carnival.
I retook Lauren's pictures down at the Nelson Art Gallery.  I did not like a single one that the photographer took of her.  So her and I headed back down there and I got a ton of great pictures of my little model.

We carved pumpkins.  This is Lauren's pumpkin.

Addison is obsessed with our new washing machine and the fact that you can watch the clothes being washed...we all kind of are actually.

Addison's pumpkin...

We went to Paradise Park one afternoon...

I took the girls to the Zoo another Saturday afternoon...

After a while they both rode in the stroller...

We went out to Lake Jacoma to feed the deer.

Lauren loves to read.  She has her nose in the book all the time.

Lauren had fun at the school carnival with her friend Erin.

And tonight I should be sorting through 251 boxes of Girl Scout cookies that we just brought home...but I am not!  I am off to bed instead!

Pumpkin Patch 2012

We hit Carolyn's Pumpkin Patch again this year.  It was a few weeks ago.  The day after it rained ALL day on Saturday.  We were a little worried about the mud, but it was fine.  There were a few big mud puddles, but we managed to stay away from them.  The field of pumpkins was actually pretty dry.  All the vines kept the mud away.

It was a pretty chilly start, but the girls still posed for a few pictures.  We got pumpkin donuts as soon as we arrived and warmed up in the red barn for a few minutes before heading over to feed the animals.

This baby goat was definitely their favorite little animal to feed.  It was the sweetest little thing.

This pictures cracks me up!  Lauren was totally getting into it!

This pumpkin patch has so much to do to keep the kids busy.  We were there for almost 4 hours so we stopped and played with everything.

The girls danced for a long time up on stage.

They even slowed down a little bit to pose for some pictures.

Addison loved the horse!

I could watch the two of them running around holding hands all day long.  Lauren always makes sure Addison is right there with her and well taken care of.

The muddiest part of our day was the tractor ride out to the pumpkins.  The tires were covered in mud...and the mud kept flipping off the tires and hitting us in the face, on our back, hair, hands, etc...we tried to laugh about it.  That was about all we could do!

I hope to keep up this tradition for several years to come.  I absolutely love the pumpkin patch.

Girl Scouts Camping

So it seemed like this happened forever ago and I am just now getting to it to blog about it.  Better late than never, right?  Lauren joined Girl Scouts this year and she absolutely loves it.  I was able to get her into a troop at another school, where one of her best friends is a Girl Scout.
I think the Girl Scouts are such an amazing program for little girls.  It teaches them so many life values that Lauren will carry on forever.  There are also so many fun activities, meetings, cookies, and camping.  Lauren is the most excited about the camping part.  She can't wait to go camping in the spring.

We spent one afternoon at the Girl Scout campground about a month ago.  The girls learned everything they needed to know about camping...from fire safety, to cooking, to hiking, to cleaning toilets, and several other things.

This is Lauren with her friend Cassidy.

All the kids were begging to clean the toilets!

We cooked smores at the end.  The wind and the fire were a little scary at times for Lauren.

She absolutely loved the afternoon we spent out at the campground.  It was a perfect time for the two of us and I am very excited for the spring when we have our overnight trip.

The leader also incorporated a lesson into the day, that way the girls could earn a badge for the day!  Lauren loves her vest with all the badges that she has earned already!
