Penguins and Pancakes

Saturday morning we made a quick stop at the Zoo for Penguins and Pancakes.  As a Friends of the Zoo member, we were able to get in early, before the Zoo officially opened.  And, we enjoyed a free pancake breakfast!  

The penguins were awesome!  The girls had a lot of fun watching them.  I really loved penguins as well.  

Then if was off to breakfast (#2) where Lauren enjoyed 2 helpings of pancakes, and Addison enjoyed 4 helpings of sausage.  I don't know where the girls put it, but these 2 can eat! 

Another Zoo!

The girls and I hit the Zoo Saturday morning with the Hooper's before it got really hot.  Mark was in Maryville with some buddies, so it was girls day!  Lauren loves girls weekend, or girls day!  Mark was gone Friday night, so Lauren slept with me (and that is her favorite part of Mark being gone!)  

This is our 3rd zoo in about 3 weeks.  We have hit the San Diego Zoo and the Omaha Zoo as well.  Of course, Kansas City pales in comparison, but the girls still had fun.  

We rode everything...the carousel, train, tram and skyfari.  We saw very few animals, but we still had fun.  

We started at the Polar bear, and then hit the snakes.  We spent some time in the Discovery Barn and then rode the train.  On the train we saw the kangaroos.  We headed down to Africa via tram and saw the elephants.  

We opted for the skyfari to view Africa.  We saw several giraffes and one zebra.  We also saw several other animals (deer looking things!) from up above.  After Africa the kids were pretty hot so we headed into the air conditioner to enjoy some lunch before heading home.  A perfect little outing for Saturday morning.
