Family Pictures from the Pumpkin Patch

Here is that huge smile Addison likes the share for pictures.  It is the sweetest thing.  One of the teachers at school taught her that! 

Taking a ride on the train.  Both girls really enjoyed riding around the pumpkin patch. 

Waiting for the pig races to start.  There was a girl, "Princess Andrea," dressed in an orange formal dress handing out suckers to the kids while they waited for the pig races to begin.  Lauren wanted to know why we did not see princess Andrea in Disney World! 

While it looks like Addison's eyes are closed, they are not.  Just another one of her huge smiles. 

After we had lunch we picked out pumpkins and then Mark headed out of town.  He went to Lincoln for another Husker game.  They girls gave him about 100 hugs and kisses before he left the pumpkin patch.  He was gone for less than 24 hours, but you would think we was going to be gone for 24 days the way the girls were kissing and hugging him.  He loved it though. 

I took this picture of the train, just holding out the camera and telling Addison to smile!  I did not get any pictures of just Lauren and I and I am so disappointed.  She was ready and willing to pose for the camera too. 

After Mark headed to Lincoln the girls and I took a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch to see where the pumpkins are grown.  They loved the hay ride.  I could not get Addison to cooperate and smile for me (oh well.)

So Addison has to do EVERYTHING that Lauren's does.  So many of these pictures you have already seen (with Lauren of course.)   So this is round two, with Addison. 

When we tell her to smile the gets a big cheesy smile and squints her eyes.  I love it!

Here is that smile again, even bigger! 

I love the look on her face.  What do you think she is thinking?  She did not want to put that pumpkin down.  She carried it around forever. 

We took a hay ride out to the actual pumpkin patch where the pumpkins were still growing.  Lauren loved it out there, and Addison got pretty excited when she saw snoopy.

 I really don't think I need to type anything at all.  You can tell from these pictures that Lauren loved the pumpkin patch.  Again, it is my favorite holiday tradition.

Pumpkin Patch

I know it is still September, but Fall is here and Saturday was gorgeous, so we headed out to Carolyn's Pumpkin Patch. 

I snapped this picture before we left the house.  You never really know if the girls will cooperate once we get out to an activity.  Lauren knows the drill.  Get dressed, hair fixed, shoes on, pictures before we leave the house! 

We decided just to get small pumpkins since it is so early in the pumpkin season.  Lauren really wanted a big one that she could take the seeds out of, but we told her we will get a big one closer to Halloween

So I took 153 pictures today...yes 153 while at the pumpkin patch for almost 4 hours.  I decided I will post some pictures all week for everyone to enjoy. 

This pumpkin patch had so much for the kids to do.  It is our first visit to this pumpkin patch and we really enjoyed it.  This might be our new favorite pumpkin patch to visit each year.  Of all the holiday traditions, going to the pumpkin patch is my FAVORITE.  We never went as a kid.  It is something that Mark and I started with the girls, and I love it..and they do too! 

Feeding the goats never gets old.  The girls could stand there all day and just feed the goats. 

Pig races...yes that is right...pig races.  It was actually a lot of fun to see these pigs running like crazy around the track.  We got to see three separate races. 

I don't know how many pictures of the girls I got behind some wooden display sticking their heads through the hole, but the trip would not be completed without this activity.  I really can't understand what is so exciting about these things, but the girls love them! 

So throughout the week I will post several more pictures of our adventure to the pumpkin patch.  It will take me forever to scrapbook all of these pictures, but they are just too cute not to!  Enjoy...

 

I am Tired...

This weekend was crazy...well all of our weekends are crazy anymore (and they will be for the rest of the year!!!)  Mark and I headed out to the Zoo Saturday morning to do the 4 Mile Zoo Run.  We both did great!  Mark smoked me and finished about 2 minutes ahead of me, but I ran the whole thing and did it under 39 minutes.  I ran a 9 minute and 43 second mile.  I was very happy with that. 

Ms. Sam (one of the high school teachers from the daycare) came over to watch the girls, and Lauren said that was her favorite part of the weekend.  She must have forgotten about this....

Ms. Pat's Carnival.  If you have followed my blog for the last couple years (2008)  or (2009 ) you know that we go to this every year.  FREE EVERYTHING.  Food, bounce houses, sno cones, games, rides, petting zoo (although we did not make it to that this year) face painting, tattoos, cotton candy, drinks,train rides,  EVERYTHING.  We love it.  Thanks Ms. Pat (another teacher from school, Addison's teacher) for putting on such a great event. 

We played lots of games and got lots of silly prizes which the girls think are absolute treasures. 

Both girls got their face painted and a tattoo for their arm.

Then we found Killian.  With Killian, Lauren can do anything.  Like get into this bounce house, laugh, scream, and play..until that huge ball hits her in the face and knocks her over...and then Killian just a few minutes later.   Poor kids...

Mark and Jessica (Killian's Mom) stood in the sno cone line while Garrett (Killian's Dad) and I watch the kids play in the bounce houses.  They had a blast.  It was super hot and we were all sweating.  The sno cones really cooled the kids down (for a few minutes anyway.) 

This is Carissa, Gretchen's daughter (the director of the daycare.)  She has always adored my girls.  We love her too (and her Mom...she is an awesome director of Child Prodigy.)
