Father's Day

I really can't say enough about Mark as a father to these girls.  He is simply amazing.  They both adore him and I love the relationship he has with both of them.

At the old house we planted trees the year the girls were born.  Honestly, that was the hardest part about leaving the old house was the memory of those trees and watching them and the girls grow.  When we moved to the new house Mark knew it was important to me to plant trees as soon as possible...and to carry on the tradition of taking pictures in next to the trees on Father's Day each year.  Even if that means it is blazing hot and they are looking into the sun for the picture.  Thanks guys for being good sports.

Yep, the sun is still shining in their faces!

We headed to downtown Lee's Summit to enjoy breakfast at Neighbors Cafe.  It is amazing!  If you have not been there, I highly recommend it.  Downtown Lee's Summit is a great place with so many unique shops.

Pictures in the shade with the brick background was so much better!  Mark and Lauren's relationship continues to grow more and more each day.  They share a love of Royals games and soccer.  Mark can help Lauren with her math homework as well. These two always have a great time hanging out together.

Addison and Mark enjoy reading together.  For some reason, when Mark tells Addison it is time to read she is ready and excited!  They especially love reading the bible together!  Mark is also really good at playing Barbie's with Addison and she loves that!

These girls have no idea how much I treasure their love for their Dad.  He adores them as well.  I can only hope their relationship with him will continue to grow and be just as strong as it is now.

And because they were so cooperative with all my pictures...here is one of the fun/silly ones!  Love these two silly girls!

Can't forget about Ginger.  While at times she might  be a little scared of Mark and his discipline, I know she adores him as well!

Happy Father's Day to an amazing Dad and Husband!

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to the most incredible Father my kids could ever imagine!

It was Lauren's idea to make Mark a picture frame this year.

What makes Mark so amazing is how involved he is in the girls life.  This weekend he was in the pool throwing all the kids around.

Addison loved her frame also.  She almost gave away the surprise over the last few days.

Mark was such a trooper being the only adult in the pool for a while this weekend, making sure Addison was safe in the water.  After while, Addison was floating around all by herself and having the time of her life.

I surprised Mark with a Father's Day 40th Birthday surprise today as well.  A weekend in Chicago and a Cubs game!  He was shocked, surprised, and very excited.  I can't wait to go.

Happy Father's Day to the man I love to watch interact with our girls and work so hard at raising them well.

Father's Day

Father's Day was great, although Mark did not want to really "do" anything.  He wanted to just lay low and hang out, watch some golf, and grill.  We ended up running around a little more than he would have like to, but he did get to watch golf in the evening.
We took our traditional Father's Day pictures by the girl's trees that were planted the years they were born.

The trees are getting so big it is getting harder and harder to get all of the tree and Mark and the girls too!

Both girls made coffee mugs for Mark.  They were so proud of them.  Addison brought her's home Wednesday afternoon and Mark took it to work before I could get pictures of it.  What I love the most on Lauren's is the handle that says "Dad and me."  It took me a while to figure out what it said, but once I did I thought it was so sweet.  I also got Mark a travel coffee mug that I made on Shutterfly with the pictures of Lauren and Addison and a gift card to Scooter's coffee!  We love coffee around here!

After church we met my Dad and Mom at Corner Cafe.  We had never been, although it is one of my parent's favorite places.  We had a huge cinnamon roll to share and it was yummy!  The rest of breakfast was great as well.  We will go back for sure.  I hope both Mark and my Dad had a good Father's Day!

Father's Day 2012

Some of my favorites...in no particular order.  Mark is an incredible Father.  He adores the girls and they adore him.  They have no idea how lucky they are to call him Dad!
