October Happenings...
Remember when I posted this picture of our calendar for October? Well here are some of the other events from this crazy busy month....
Lauren had school pictures....
Addison and I went to Sophie's baptism. Lauren and Mark stayed home. Lauren was sick with strep throat.
We enjoyed Underwood skate night at the local skating rink. Lauren has gone skating several times with Child Prodigy and she loves the skating rink. She holds on to the wall most of the time, but that does not matter. She has fun.
Mark was impressed with my skating skills! He could not believed how well I skated. We used to go as a kid every Saturday from 2-4. My Dad grew up in the roller skating rink so we were pretty good as kids. I guess it is just like riding a bike...you really don't forget.
Addison loved being carried by me around the skating rink...until some told me "you know that is really very dangerous and you need to put her down." Whatever, she loved it!
Addison is obsessed with her Polly Pockets that she got for her birthday. I think she has 9 Polly Pocket dolls now.
Underwood had their Fall Fun Fest at the school. This is Lauren's friend Jackson. I think she might like him just a little bit.
The girls enjoyed carnival games, bounce houses, face painting, and many other things that night.
Mark finally painted the shed to match the house. He was waiting for to cool off since it was such a HOT summer.
Mark went to Minnesota for a NE game and ran into Tommy Frazier. He was very excited and had a great weekend with some of his friends.
We enjoyed a family fun night up at Legacy Park. It was a Halloween party with several little games for the kids to play. Here is Addison, our little bumble bee. Lauren did not want to put on her rock star costume. She is very cute in it though.
A sneak peak at Lauren's costume. This is from costume night at gymnastics. I totally forgot it was costume night so we had to go all the way back home to get her changed and into her Rock Star outfit.
This is from Addison's birthday party. I realized it never got posted and I loved the picture so I thought I would share it here...
Oh October, I can't believe you are over already. It has been a fun filled memorable month!

Painting Pumpkins
So we have been to the pumpkin patch twice this year already. We have accumulated 5 little pumpkins with those visits. I thought it would be fun to paint the pumpkins. The girls loved the idea too!
This past weekend was beautiful. Perfect fall weather to be outside. Addison helped me get all the paint supplies ready while Lauren vegged out on the couch watching TV.
Addison had so much fun painting her pumpkins. She had paint everywhere! Thankfully it is washable (of course, I would not have it any other way.)
Lauren decided to join us after a while. She painted a rainbow pumpkin and did a very good job.
Don't you love the t-shirt and short in mid October? If you look really close at Lauren's hair you can still see the spray paint from the Halloween Party the day before at Child Prodigy. She is a rock star for Halloween and looks adorable in the costume.
If you look really close at Addison's face you will see paint on her face. I asked her why she had paint on her face and she said "because I had a cratch (scratch)" So cute...
One of Addison's pumpkins.
One of Lauren's pumpkins.
A great Saturday afternoon activity. Addison moved them into the garage last night since she knew it was going to rain today. She was very worried about the pumpkins getting wet and all the paint coming off. It was so sweet.

Pumpkin Patch....Again!
This weekend we headed out to Carolyn's Pumpkin Patch again...this time with the Wright's. Killian and Charley. Since Lauren and Killian are not in Kindergarten together we have to get them together on the weekends to hang out. They had so much fun running and playing Saturday morning. Addison and Charley see each other every day at Child Prodigy (they are in the same class) and they had a blast as well.
I love this picture. Isn't she the sweetest?
I could hardly keep up with these 2. They ran like crazy all over the pumpkin patch!
Double Trouble. Don't let the two faces fool you!
She is my little poser right now. I tell her to smile and she tilts her head and puts her hand on her hip. I love it! Jessica and Garrett could not believe how cooperative she is with pictures. I think my girls know that I am going to snap a lot of pictures so they might as well smile and cooperate for me!
Charley and Addison went through the corn maze probably 10 times. It looks like they are walking here in this picture, but they were usually running like crazy when they came out.
Do you notice the forced smiles from these two? They were pretty much done with pictures at this point. This was near the area to feed the ducks. We actually missed it the first time we were out at the pumpkin patch. They had so much fun getting food out and throwing it at the ducks.
Another train ride! These two are so grown up, sitting by themselves having a ton of fun.
Jessica rode with Addison and Charley. Garrett and I lucked out and stayed behind and talked...and snapped all the pictures.
The Wrights took off after lunch, but the girls and I went back out to the field to pick out pumpkins. They loved the tractor ride and picked out 2 more small pumpkins to take home. That is a total of 5 pumpkins now!
I am thankful for another beautiful day to spend outside at the pumpkin patch, and even more for great friends to spend it with. I love fall.

Family Pictures at the Pumpkin Patch
So I have a few more pictures to share from the pumpkin patch. A few random family pictures. More of Mark of course than of me since I am always the one behind the camera capturing the moment. I just don't want to forget a think about the girls childhood. They just grow up and change so fast!
It was windy on the ride out to the pumpkin patch.
On the way back we sat in the very back. Lauren and Addison loved it because it was so bumpy and rough. I hated it...they just laughed and laughed.
The girls talked us into a train ride. I say talked us into because it cost extra and frankly is a rip off. It is $3 a person for about a 3 minute train ride. We sat in the very front in the family car.
One of the guys offered to take our picture, which I thought was very nice. I always love having family pictures and could never have too many.
It was a great day at the pumpkin patch with tons of memories. I can't wait to scrapbook everything!

Addison at the Pumpkin Patch
Addison was so cooperative at the pumpkin patch that I snapped a ton of pictures of her. Can you believe she is 3 and cooperative??? This does not happen all the time, but when it does I take full advantage of it!
She loves animals and loved feeding the goats.
There is not one ounce of fear in this girl. Lauren was always a little slow to warm up to feeding the animals. Maybe it had something to do with the goat that almost bit her hand off in St. Louis one summer. Really. When she was 18 months old we were in STL at Grant's farm and she was watching the baby goats that were being fed by bottles of milk. One came up to her and had her whole hand in his mouth...ouch!
There are so many things to do at Carolyn's Pumpkin Patch. Like I said last year, it is my new favorite pumpkin patch. It is a little farther from our house, but well worth the drive.
Headed out to the pumpkins on a hay ride.
This girl can pose and cooperate with the best of them. Don' you love the way the sun is shining on her?
Looking for the perfect pumpkin.
Found it!
37 inches if she was standing up straight and tall.
And another pumpkin to take home for the cutest little girl at the pumpkin patch!
