November Randomness

She slept in 4 pair of PJ's this past week.  Can you see all 4 pairs?  Look closely at her neckline.

This one is my buddy.  Follows me around everywhere!  This is one of her favorite places to rest!

When I was sick earlier this month for about 24 hours with a GI bug she hung out with me all day as well..on the bed.  She is spoiled rotten.

After family pictures we went out to dinner and had some root beer!

Both girls thought they were pretty hot stuff!

We enjoyed girls night out at the ballet and saw The Little Mermaid put on by our dance center.

Jenna had a birthday party!

Lauren's Girl Scout troop earned their dance badge at Lauren's dance studio.  She had fun showing her fellow Girl Scouts some of her dance moves.

The girls have been doing a lot of drawing these days.  Lauren found videos on You Tube that show you how to draw lots of fun things.

Addison was very excited about the Thanksgiving place mat she made at this last week.  She has eaten several meals on it since then.

We are ready for Thanksgiving and looking forward to 2 big Thanksgiving meals with family.  I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving as well.

Watch Week at Dance

It's been a few weeks, but the girls had Watch Week at dance...and it was fun!  The girls are both in Tap, Jazz, and Ballet.  Lauren is at the studio 3 nights a week and Addison is at the studio 2 nights a week.  They both love it!

Addison is working very hard to get her splits down perfect.

She loves Jazz class, just like her sister!

Lauren stole the camera away from me and snapped some amazing pictures of Addison.

I'm not sure what she is doing here...but it's cute!

Then it was time for Tap class.

All those little girls in their tap shoes...well it was loud!

After Addison's Tap and Jazz class it was time for Lauren's Ballet class. It took her about a month to warm up to Ballet class, but now she loves it.

She has done really well over the last few months.

Addison also loves Ballet class.

She loves Ballet so much that she told me that night "I have to practice my leaps.  I have to practice my left footed leaps.  They have to be perfect."  Addison is a very driven, determined child.  I assured her she was 6...they did not have to be perfect.  She is still practicing very hard.

Then it was onto Jazz class for Lauren.  Jazz is definitely her favorite type of dance, followed by Ballet, then Tap.

Lauren is also very determined and works very hard each week.

Try this...it is harder than it looks.

Tap class finished off the week.

When all the girls get the moves down right, Tap is pretty incredible!

So, watch week was a success, although a little exhausting for Mark and I.  Normally each week, we take turns hanging out at the dance studio.  Some nights I stay and chat with friends.  Other nights he will stay and read a book or something on the I-Pad.  But, watching our girls improve with the dance skills was well worth it.

A Halloween Wrap Up

I can't even believe how fast this year is flying by.  It's November already.  I bought some Christmas presents online last night, but I am so not ready to think about Christmas.  Let's enjoy November, Thanksgiving, and turkey.

Here is a quick look at our Halloween activities.

We carved pumpkins last weekend when it was still warm outside.

Each year, the girls are able to do a little more pumpkin carving on their own.

Lauren is really getting the hang of it.

The finished product was great...and even better with candles inside!

Friday afternoon, I volunteered at each of their Halloween parties.  It was so great to meet some of their friends and spend the day with them.

In the afternoon, the whole school had a parade.  Mark left work early and was able to surprise the girls.  Here is Addison as Sleeping Beauty.

Lauren went as Snow White this year.

Friday night the neighborhood has a pizza party before heading out to trick or treat.  Have I mentioned how much we love our new neighborhood.  Pizza, grapes, drinks (for kids and parents) and a ton of fun.  There was a great turnout.

Most of the time the kids were running crazy around the neighborhood.  Addison snuck into this little car.  One of the neighbors bought it from Worlds of Fun. You know the taxi cab ride, right?  It was a hit!

Denise and I were so cold, but some adults beverages helped keep us warm throughout the night.

Addison and her best buddy, Jenna.

The one and only picture I got of both the girls.  They were in front of a spooky house and a little freaked out!

Lauren took off in a golf cart to go trick or treating.  A little spoiled???

Addison and her buddies had a blast!  WE trick or treated for over 2 hours!

We saw some pretty amazing houses in the neighborhood.

And we stayed up way to late eating candy Friday night...but it was fun!
