Go Bearcats!
Saturday afternoon NWMSU and Pitt State played at Arrowhead for the 8 time. It is such a huge rival for the bearcats and the gorillas and always a lot of fun. NWMSU has won 6 out of the 8 games, including Saturday's game. Mark and I always go with Amy and Shannon. We have only missed a few of the games. This year we decided to bring Lauren and Aiden along. Man did they have fun together.
Lauren and Aiden in the front row watching the game.
We got there early to tailgate and the kids had a blast. When we first arrived Aiden was asleep in the car. Mark and Shannon went to get the tickets while Amy and I got everything unpacked. Lauren helped us unpack as well and get food set out on the table. Amy and I cracked open a beer and sat down and started to chat. Lauren was just standing there looking at us and she says "What are we going to do now...just stand here." It was so funny. So we explained to her what tailgating was...eating, drinking (juice for the kids) and having fun with our friends. We told her Aiden would be awake soon and the fun would begin. I got them football cups from the party store and they loved them.
Aiden and Lauren spent time sitting the back of the car talking, laughing, playing. They played swords together, and even played with a football and kickball. They were so hot and sweaty but they had a blast. When I asked Lauren what her favorite part of the day was she said "Running around with Aiden."
Bobby Bearcat came off the field and into the stands to greet everybody. Well if you know Lauren you know how scared she is of any kind of mascot. Aiden talked to Bobby Bearcat and got his picture taken with him. Lauren kept her eye on him until she could no longer see him. She is sitting here watching him. Making sure he does not come anywhere near her!
We missed little Addison but decided to leave her at home with Ms. Amanda from school. Ms Amanda adores her and Addison just screams and smiles each day she sees Ms. Amanda so we knew she would take great care of her! Ms. Amanda said she was a little fussy at bedtime, but otherwise they had a great evening. Addison even took an hour nap for Ms. Amanda. Something she never does for us. Maybe next year Addison will join us for the game. It is always fun with Amy, Shannon, and Aiden. Great memories for the kids. Lauren's first football game.
